Porkies Wilderness Race

50 mi | Heavy Half-Marathon

Future expansion: 100 mile & 200 mile course are designed & coming 2027 | 2028

What are the Porkies?

The ‘Porkies’ are an area of wilderness and solitude, where most of what you'll hear is your footsteps, the sounds of wildlife, and flowing waters.

Porcupine Mountains State Park covers 60,000 acres of lush forest, rocky beaches, and gorgeous waterfalls on the south shore of Lake Superior. The park contains over 90 miles of trails, including a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail.

The 50-mile course (100-miler coming next year) was not designed with ease, speed, or comfort in mind. Climbs and descents are steep; flats are muddy, rocky, and rooted; and the night may feel desolate as you spend hours alone in the wild.
