Expect Challenges

“This is not a fast course. It is a course that rewards patience, preparation, and respect for wilderness travel.”

The Porkies Wilderness Race is designed for runners seeking a challenging, immersive wilderness experience where mental resilience matters as much as physical strength. Set within Michigan's stunning Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, runners will tackle a rugged 50-mile loop or half-marathon course.

Come prepared for steep climbs, technical descents. With remote stretches through lush forests, passing by cascading waterfalls, and the unforgettable presence of Lake Superior.
